Nevada has released their medical marijuana approvals! Las Vegas medical marijuana applicants are mostly unidentified due to the fact that the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services does not have to disclose the information. Many Las Vegas medical marijuana applicants opted out of having their information disclosed. The State received a total of 519 medical marijuana establishment applications.
The Las Vegas Sun states that 6,500 Nevadans hold medical marijuana prescription cards. Clark County, where most of Las Vegas sits, has 4,728 of those cardholders.
Las Vegas Medical Marijuana Applicants
Although many Las Vegas medical marijuana applicants were not disclosed, some of those that did are recognizable names in Las Vegas. Former mayor of Henderson, Bob Groesbeck of MM Development Company, LLC, was one Vegas notable receiving approval from the state.
Other companies receiving various types of approvals include Tryke Companies, NuVeda, MediFarm, Las Vegas Wellness Center, Inc., Just Quality LLC, Nye Natural Medicinal Solutions, LLC, The Cannavative Group, LLC, and Silver Sage Wellness, LLC.
Nevada Turns Down Some Applicants
Not everyone whose applications were submitted to the state passed the stringent licensing approval process. The state listed 22 dispensary applicants in the City of Henderson that did not receive a license. Clark County saw 19 applicants that were denied, and Las Vegas medical marijuana applicants that did not receive license approval from the state totaled 37. Since some of these applicants were approved by their local governments, it is a possibility that some law suits could begin.
Medical Marijuana Dispensaries, Cultivation, and Production
The full gamut needed for starting to sell medical marijuana was covered by Nevada’s licensing approvals. Licenses were granted for cultivation, production (including extraction and edibles), and independent laboratory testing firms.
It is expected that sales could begin in approximately six months for some businesses that are ready to begin production as soon as possible. Some forward thinking companies have building and architectural, security, and grow plans in place and ready to go.
This is a big step for Nevada. Patients that can benefit from medical marijuana are quite ecstatic right now with the Las Vegas medical marijuana applicants gaining approvals from the state.
