We’re Saying Goodbye to CBD Edibles

Goodbye to CBD Edibles

Effective today, Happy Joe is saying goodbye to CBD edibles in our store. This wasn’t a simple decision, but one we feel is best for our company.

Why Happy Joe is no longer selling CBD edibles.

Over the last several weeks there have been raids in various states on CBD companies selling edibles. This includes businesses such as coffee shops or bakeries who have added cannabidiol to their consumable products.

While CBD was legalized last year under the 2018 Farm Bill, the FDA has been staunch in prohibiting CBD to be sold in food or dietary supplements. Additionally, Oklahoma has also passed new guidelines requiring medical cannabis or CBD companies to secure appropriate food licenses.

Happy Joe will always do our best to adhere to federal or state guidelines.

We want to conduct our business to the highest standards even if it means tough decisions like dropping CBD edibles from our catalog. We also believe regulation of cannabis products is beneficial for people consuming these products. This why we are transparent about our Military Grade CBD products and provide Certificates of Analysis.

Despite how the FDA has approved harmful prescription drugs to be sold without any more substantial research than cannabis, Happy Joe will follow their current guidelines.

What does this mean to our current CBD edible customers?

First we have to say we’re sorry we can no longer offer these products. We hope you understand the complexities of being in the cannabis industry. The good news (for now) is there are many other companies carrying CBD edibles — though be careful on what you purchase!

Additionally we’d recommend you consider using Military Grade CBD Oil. CBD oil or tinctures are the best way to consume cannabidiol.

Why we recommend CBD oil over edibles:

  • CBD Oil is placed under your tongue which has large mucus membranes. This is a fairly direct route into your blood stream. The delivery of CBD is faster and more potent since it skips being absorbed into the liver like edibles or capsules.
  • CBD Oil also comes in various milligrams allowing you to adjust for the perfect dose for your needs. Most people use 1000mg but you can get it from 250mg to 7500mg. For deeper health issues, the higher milligrams are usually best.

We understand some people just don’t like the taste of CBD oil or tinctures, but they really are the best way to go.
